Yoga may be thousands of years old but the art form still persists today and with good cause. It has become popular as ever and not only that, yoga has also become quite a diverse art form with many different styles branching out. But while there are many yoga styles for you to choose from, they offer mostly the same benefits.
If you plan to engage in the practice of yoga for the first time, there are a few things that you need to consider first.
- The first thing you would have to consider is finding a quiet place where you can practice yoga. Privacy is a necessity when it comes to yoga and you would need to avoid any distractions if you want to meditate and practice effectively. You should also make sure that the room you have chosen is comfortable enough for you with even temperature.
- Most yoga enthusiasts wear tight-fitting clothes but you should wear something that is loose enough for you to move comfortably. Let your body breathe and unless the floor is cold, do the session barefooted.
- It is recommended that you use a cotton towel as padding along with a wool blanket folded enough times underneath so that you don’t feel any pain on the hard floor. You should also make sure that your floor is even and level.
- It would be best if you do the session with an empty stomach because you can concentrate more and it is more enjoyable.
- Do not engage in any of the poses when it is hot or during the noonday sun. You should also avoid doing the poses right after exposure to the sun because you’ll feel weak. You can do it outdoors just as long as there is an open shade or indoors with good ventilation.
- It would be better if you bathe first before you do the Chiang Mai yoga session or if you chose not to bathe before the session, make sure you don’t take a shower right after the session so as to not disrupt the hormones that are working in your system.
